We were founded in 2017 in Copenhagen, Denmark, based on a simple insight: from our own experience, we knew that security and compliance professionals struggle with fragmented processes. That’s why we set out to help them build structured, transparent, and lasting GRC programmes.
Since day one, our focus has been to make complex information security and privacy work easier through technology.
We launched our first version in 2019, and since then, Wired Relations has grown with a diverse customer base across sectors – all sharing a commitment to handling data responsibly.
As new laws and frameworks continue to emerge, our platform evolves with them – helping organisations stay ahead of the change.
"In 2018, we noticed something strange. GDPR was coming into force, and businesses were rushing to buy systems to deal with it. But something didn’t feel right.
On one end, there were tools that promised to make data protection magically disappear. On the other, systems so complex that you'd need consultants for months just to get started.
We wanted to build something different – something practical. A platform that was easy to set up and use, yet powerful enough to give organisations full control and visibility across their GRC programmes.
We started with GDPR but quickly realised that information security required the same structured approach. That’s why we expanded the solution with an ISMS – including automation of key GRC workflows like vendor management, audits, and incident handling – all ready to use from day one.
The journey hasn't been easy. At times, we were frustrated. People chose the ‘magical’ privacy systems, even when we warned they would fall apart once real-world operations began. Others went with the big consultant-driven setups, only to discover they were drowning in system complexity instead of driving actual infosec and privacy outcomes.
But privacy and information security didn’t go away. Quite the opposite – it became more critical. And teams everywhere are trying to manage growing demands with fewer resources.
What they need is focus. Not more systems to configure. But the tools to make smart, effective decisions in information security and privacy – and the structure to support them.
Today, we see more and more organisations making that shift. They’re leaving the magic behind. They want sustainable GRC. And that’s exactly why we built Wired Relations – to help turn fragile efforts into structured, lasting programmes that scale.”
Well, sometimes people call us “Wired” for short. We don’t like that, because Relations really is the operative word in our name. It is..:
The way we work with our customers
How privacy and infosec should be done
How we developed the software
The foundation of so many things in our company
How we see the community of privacy and infosec
Obviously, we need to connect those relations, wire the relations. That is our vision for our solution and why we are named Wired Relations.
