Frequently asked questions

What is a system?

A system is a place where you process personal data. Typically an IT system, but can also be a physical archive in the office or something similar. In general just defined by a placeholder where personal data is being processed. You must be able to explain where the data is located; including whether it is with the data controller himself (you), with an outsourcing provider or in the cloud.

When using Wired Relations you will be asked where personal data is stored so that this can be defined for your business.

What is a processing activity?

A processing activity is an activity in which you treat personal data. Under ‘Processing Activities’ in Wired Relations, you are guided through a questionnaire, which step by step helps you document and test the legality of the processing of personal data carried out in your company.

The mapping that you have made of systems, vendors and the individual personal data is the necessary groundwork required for you to be able to document your processing activities.

What is a supplier/vendor?

A supplier/vendor is a company or similar that supplies a product or service to you. In Wired Relations, you can set up all your suppliers/vendors, get control of which are data processors, attach data processing agreements and other documents, and get an overview of the data processors’ geographical location.

Can I test Wired Relations prior to buying?

Yes, all our editions provide 14 days trial. If you need more time, we can extend your trial.

Does Wired Relations fit to my type of company?

Wired Relations is designed to suit the GDPR process for the vast majority of businesses, whether you’re an accountant, craftsman, manufacturing company, or a municipality, or something entirely different.

Is Wired Relations free for entrepreneurs and small businesses?

Yes. We have chosen to develop a free edition that will fit most small companies and entrepreneurs with up to 10 systems and 10 processing activities, because we believe that all companies, including the smallest companies, must have the opportunity to get a good start on their GDPR compliance. Wired Relations is for entrepreneurs and small businesses with up to 10 systems and 10 processing activities. If you reach more than 10 systems or processing activities, you can chose to upgrade to one of the paid editions presented on the website.
