A Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) is a crucial part of sustainable compliance and a process that cannot begin too early. Whether you are required to do a full DPIA or not, going through the process will ensure that new systems and processes are legal.‍

In this recorded masterclass we dive into mastering that process in two one-hour online sessions:

Diving into the steps to take

Everytime your organisation acquires a new system or introduces a new process involving personal information, you need to assess the privacy and data protection implications. Preferably, through a structured process that gives you overview and control.

The DPIA process as the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) describes it is a great framework for doing that.

Whether you are required to do a full DPIA or not, going through the process will ensure that new systems and processes are legal.

In this first part of the masterclass, we take the practical approach and dive into the steps to take to complete the assessment.

Securing buy-in and collaboration

Such a process requires buy-in from management, awareness (and acceptance) from your colleagues and a lot of collaboration.

That is what we dive into in the part of the masterclass.

You’ll learn:

- How to tailor a plan to secure buy-in from management

- How to make sure that the whole organisation is aware of the importance of data protection and

- How to best collaborate with IT, procurement and the rest of the organisation.
